Kiln Academy is a live, cohort-based design school. Since 2023 we’ve run small cohorts where working designers review real projects, every week, until they ship.

Our story
Our story
Built by designers
who hire designers.

Kiln started as a weekend crit group. A few senior designers kept meeting juniors who had finished three online courses and still couldn’t explain a single design decision.

So we built the opposite of a video library: small cohorts, real briefs and a mentor who marks up your work every single week until it’s good enough to show.

What we believe
What we believe
01
Make, then learn
Every lesson ends in something you build and someone reviews.
02
Feedback is the product
Specific, numbered critique from people who do the work.
03
Small on purpose
Forty seats per cohort, so nobody hides in the back row.
